“The life spans of some incarnations are short. Because high reincarnations just follow only one specific purpose, you can’t say whether a short life has to be regretted or not. In our eon, which we call the ‘good one’, 1000 Buddhas will appear, but some of the buddhas will only have a short life span and one will only live for seven days, for example. A buddha always manifests in order to cause the well-being of the beings – and if we look at it from this perspective, short lives will have a purpose, a purpose that ordinary people cannot apprehend.”
“Without going into the illusion of whatever appears, rest in the unity of appearance and emptiness. Look at the essence, which is without foundation and root. Seer and things seen are both empty. Within their non-dual union lies the great play of the primordial natural state. The face of the lama and my mind is seen, and I am sure of gaining the royal seat of great bliss.”
“After the 16th or 17th [Karmapa] the teachings of the Victorious One in general and the Kamtsang teachings will correspond to brakes, which will be extinct by the end of the summer. The lineage of the god-like kings in the east will break off, and the country will be governed by different people. Both in the north and in the east will invade and Tibet will be encircled like a ring. The merit of the king of Tibet will exhaust itself.
Whatever you do, it will be wrong. With whoever you talk, it will be contradicted. Good behavior disappears and negative behavior spreads. Machines manufactured by strangers will move through the sky and observe the country. If such negative times occur, no peace in mind and no joy will be experienced. Nevertheless – don’t suffer from it! Don’t let go the Three Jewels! Apply the Mahamudra practice! Stay at secret places and meditate!”
