Maitreya

Maitreya (Skt., lit.” The Loving One”) is the future Buddha. The term Maitreya probably derives from Sanskrit ‘maitri’ which means ‘universal love/ kindness’. As a human form he was one of the Eight Main Disciples (bodhisattvas) of Buddha Shakyamuni.

It is said that his teachings will be limited on Theravada and the Great Way – he will not give Diamond Way teachings.
