Longchenpa

Longchenpa aka Longchen Rabjam (1308-1364) was probably the most famous Tibetan scholar of the Nyingma school. His work had a great influence especially on the Dzogchen tradition during his lifetime, which continued to have an impact on subsequent generations of Nyingma practioners.

Longchenpa was said to be a tertön, who was able to find hidden Vajrayana key instructions (terma) as well to compose them.

From Rangjung Dorje he received the „Six Yogas of the Kalachakra“ and the „Six Teachings of Naropa“.

Longchenpa also summerized different Nyingma Phowa traditions which became known as Longchen Nyingthig (lit. „heartdrop“), the Phowa transmission that Lama Ole passed on to approx.
120,000 of his students.
