Lama Kashipa


Lama Kashipa, the Sakya master Kashipa Tsültrim Rinchen, lived around the second half
of the 14th century. He gave the ordination as a monk to Tsongkhapa, the founder of the
Gelug school, at the Namgyel Monastery in Yarlung in the year 1380. Lama Kashipa was an
extremely learned scholar in all fields of Buddha’s teachings.
