Khedrub Karma Chagme

Khedrub Karma Chagme Raga Asya (1613-1678) was a monk of the Karma Kagyü school, who spent 13 years in retreat from 1649 until 1662, the last seven years of which he was joined by Mingyur Dorje (1645-1667), who entered the retreat at the age of ten.

He was a great master of both the Nyingma and Kagyü traditions. He wrote the „Instructions For Retreat Practice“.

Khedrub Karma Chagme Raga Asya was the first of what are now 13 incarnations of Chok, a disciple of Guru Rinpoche whose rebirths were predicted by his teacher.
