Jamyang Loter Wangpo or Loter Wangpo
Jamyang Loter Wangpo or Loter Wangpo (1847-1914) was born in the region of Tsang
in Tibet. He entered the Ngor Ewam Monastery in a young age. Here he studied Buddhist
subjects as well as literature and astrology.
At the age of 23, Loter Wangpo was enthroned as Vajra master of Ngor Ewam Monastery, regarded as an excellent and accomplished scholar.
His main teacher was Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo, Jamgön Kongtrul Lodrö Thaye and many other great Buddhist masters of the Rimé movement, where he as Sakya master, also played an important role.
