Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo
Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo (1820-1892) was born in the region of Derge. He had
already contact to both Sakyapa and Nyingmapa in his youth and was recognized as the
reincarnation of the famous tertön Jigme Lingpa (1730-1789).
He himself became an important 19th century tertön and next to Jamgön Kongtrul and Chögyur Lingpa one of the three main figures within the Rimé movement. Their close bonds were based on
friendship and they exchanged many teachings and transmissions of a huge amount of
things they had learned from many teacers from all lineages of Tibetan Buddhism.
