Dölpopa Sherab Gyaltsen
Dölpopa Sherab Gyaltsen (1243 – 1313) was a representative of the so-called Buddhist Jonang tradition. They emphasized the meditation on Kalachakra and the Shentong view of emptiness.
Through the the way the Gelug administration during the time of the 5th Dalai Lama they suffered a severe decrease of practitioners. Their main region of activity became Amdo.
Through Dölpopas works a deep influence was exerted on many famous realized Buddhists, such as the 3rd and the 8th Karmapa, the 8th Situpa, Jamgön Kongtrul Lodrö Thaye and Kalu Rinpoche.
