Dhamakirti

Dhamakirti (around 600-670 CE) was a philosopher of the university in Nalanda and one of
the most influential Buddhist scholars of India.

In his main work he examined the nature, origin and limits of knowledge. In his other writings, Dharmakirti builds on and defends Dignaga’s theory of consciousness – that external objects of perception do not exist. In contrast, it states that the view that there is a duality between an object and a subjective cognition arises out of ignorance.
