10th Pawo Rinpoche, Tsuglag Mawey Wangchuk

The 10th Pawo Rinpoche, Tsuglag Mawey Wangchuk (1912-1991) was recognized and trained by the 15th Karmapa. The Karmapa transmitted the entire Kagyü teachings to him.

Then he went into retreat for a long period and afterwards became one of the teachers of the 16th Karmapa.

In 1959 he left Tibet for Bhutan and later went to Kalimpong. In later years he lived for a long time in France, (due to health problems), founded a retreat center there and shortly before his passing, returned to Nepal, where he established a monastery in Bodhnath, Kathmandu.
